4th Grade Update- MARCH

4TH GRADE NEWS

The update

This month, fourth grade students will be creating realistic fiction stories.  In math, we are finishing up division, and each class is studying fractions and decimals.  After Spring Break we will be jumping back into science, which the students are looking forward to!

In reading, we are focusing on providing evidence from the text for reflections and short answers.  As always, we appreciate the reading you do with your child at home.

“The Test”

March is here and it is that time again.  4th graders begin testing on the 14th and finish on the 22nd.  During that time, we will not have homework, but we will continue at home reading.  This can be a stressful time for kids, so lets support them with healthy meals and plenty of rest.  We will do our best to maintain a calm and supportive environment at school throughout this time.

Supplies

Wow, we’ve been busy this year.  It has come to our attention that many students are running out of room in their notebooks (spiral notebook).  Please ask your 4th grader if they are in need of a new notebook.

Got Pets?

Many of our pets would love to spend their spring break with you!  If you would like to provide a vacation home for a pet, they would love it.  Student’s homeroom students always get first choice, but pets are open to all 4th graders.
