The “Power of 3” Volunteer Program

Power of Three

Research shows that parent involvement is the biggest indicator of student success in elementary school. The Power of 3 is a program designed to help all parents/ guardians get connected to their child’s school, and promote for each child the benefits of having a parent/guardian who is involved with their education process.

If you are ready to go…

1) Sign the Pledge.

  • Sign the form attached to this flier and return it to school in your child’s folder.
  • By signing, you are committing to three hours of involvement over the school year.
  • Each parent/guardian signs a separate pledge.
  • Please sign with the name that you will use to track your hours.
  • You don’t have to pledge to be involved, but why not join the team?

2) Choose what works for you.

  • Indicate your choices on the attached volunteer information sheet.
  • Send the form back to school as soon as possible.
  • These forms are also available in the front office.

3) Get involved!

  • You will be contacted by one of our coordinators to set up your volunteer time.
  • Show up to a Volunteer Night or a Saturday Work Day.
  • Use the Learning Challenge Tracker to record your time with your child at home. (These will be sent home in the weekly folders.)

4) Track your hours.

  • Sign in at the front office or with your event coordinator.
  • Please use the name that you used when you signed your Pledge.
  • Send your Learning Challenge Tracker back to school weekly in your child’s folder.

5) Congratulate yourself!

  • Parents/Guardians who volunteer three hours or more will be recognized throughout the year. As soon as you have completed your three hours, your name will be entered into a quarterly drawing.
  • When you send in your Learning Challenge Tracker, you will be recognized monthly and be entered into a drawing for fun prizes.
